How to Use Pin Traveler
Welcome to Pin Traveler Tutorials. Whether you are just getting started, or want to dive deep and become a power user, you'll hopefully find something useful in this guide.
This is by no means a conclusive list of our features, and you may come up with different ways to use the app to best fit your purposes! If you have any questions, suggestions, or feedback please reach out to us at hello@pintraveler.net or on our social media accounts with the handle @pintravelerapp.
How do you start using Pin Traveler? To start making your Pin Traveler Travel Map, you need to first Add some "Pins" at the destinations you've visited. Top level pins are called destinations in Pin Traveler. These are cities, towns, states, villages, parks, etc. but not restaurants o, museums, or cafes. Establishment pins like these are called places. More on that later.
Pin A Destination (City)
You first need to pin where you've been to get your map and travel statistics populated. Once you pin a destination, you can view it on your map or a list, and add more data to it. See the next chapter for more details.
To add a pin, you need to tap the button on the tab bar and open the Pin Add page. From this page you can add pins in four different ways:
1. Select a List
Scroll through our pre-populated lists like Most Visited, Most Wishlisted, Parks, etc. and select one to browse.
2. Scroll & Find a Destination
Scroll through the list to find a destination to add to your visited or wishlisted pins.
3. Tap on the Destination
Tap on the destination's name to see more details like a brief description, quick stats, cover photo, and more.
4. Add to Your Pins
Add this destination to your visited pins by tapping the Add to Visited Pins button, or to your wishlist by tapping Add to Wishlisted Pins.
View Your Pins
Once you add a Pin, it's time to enrich it with more data about your travels. But to do this, you must first go to the Pin Details page for a specific pin. You can access the Pin Details page for a pin from anywhere by clicking on that pin. If you see it, tap it, and you'll be in the Pin Details page in no time. There are two main ways to go about doing this:
1. Open the List Tab
Tap the List Icon from the Tab Bar.
2. (Optional) Search for your Pin
Use the search bar or filters to search for the pin you'd like to delete.
3. Tap on a Pin
Tap a pin to open the Pin Details Page. When going through the list the page opens up in full screen.
Remove a Pin
We all make mistakes. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that you're likely to remove some pins here and there during your Pin Traveler journey.
Please note that deleting a pin will irreversibly delete all associated data (like photos, places, descriptions, ...). So proceed with caution! If you are sure you want to remove a pin, there are two main ways to do this:
1. Open the Pin Details Page
Tap your pin from any screen to open your Pin Details Page. For more details, see the previous section.
2. Press the Edit Button
Open the Edit Pin Page by tapping the blue Edit Button. You can also change a lot about your pin from here!
3. Tap "Remove from My Pins"
Scroll all the way down the screen and tap the "Remove from My Pins" button.
Share Your Profile & Follow Friends
Spread the joy of your travels by sharing your map and pins with your friends and family, or follow them to see their travel maps!
You can share your map by sharing your link or having your friends scan your Pin traveler QR Code. You can do these by:

Tap the share button next to your name to open the sharing page.
