4 Most Amazing Cafés in Florence

Why You Mustn't Miss These Cafés on your Trip to Florence

Coffee culture is deeply ingrained in the Italians' daily life and social fabric. The iconic espresso, served in small, strong shots, is the heart of Italian coffee culture. Italians often enjoy their espressos standing at the bar, savoring its rich flavor and quick jolt of energy. Coffee houses in Italy, known as "pasticcerie" or "bars," exude a warm and welcoming atmosphere, becoming community hubs where people come together to discuss everything from politics to sport, or to celebrate the pleasures of life, one espresso at a time.

On my Florence trip last summer, I became a part of the Italian coffee culture by visiting and spending time in numerous coffee houses. Although Florence is full of lovely cafés, I found myself visiting the following four, time after time. Here are my 4 favorite Florentine cafés:

1.Rivarno Café

This is such a cute coffee house that gives cozy vibes with its lovely wood and green decorations. There are two Rivarno Cafés, both with central locations in Florence. In the very hot Florence weather, I preferred to go to the one next to the river Arno, and could enjoy the soft breeze coming from the water while sipping my coffee. Rivarno Café not only offers perfect coffees and pastries, but also has healthy and fresh brunch or lunch options.

2.Melaleuca Pasticceria e Bistro

During my stay in Florence, I visited this café frequently as I fell in love with their pastries. Danish and cinnamon rolls are baked fresh each morning and are served warm. I never tasted Danish pastries as perfectly crumbly as the ones served here, and the cinnamon rolls were just excellent: not too sweet, very soft, and warm. Besides the pastries, Melaleuca Pasticceria has brunch options, including avocado bread, omelets and poached eggs.

3.La Menagere

This café with both indoor and outdoor seating, has absolutely beautiful decorations. The inside area is spacious with an elegant display of flowers, books and candles which gives the place a magical atmosphere. The food is quite good and there is something for every taste. Although the prices are higher than average, the Pinterest-picture-like vibes of La Menagere is definitely worth seeing.

4.Pazskowski

Located at the Piazza della Republica this café is fancy and has excellent service. The indoor area is spacious and air conditioned, while the outdoor terrace has a nice view of the carousel located at the piazza. The menu options are numerous, including excellent pizzas. Don't forget to taste their pretty mini cakes which are beyond delicious!
